I'm 47 and essentially a self-taught artist. I have had no formal training and was persuaded by my art teacher not to even consider taking art 'O' Level, although I was keen to do so. However, when I was 28 I attended weekly evening life drawing classes at the Morley college and City Lit in London from 1989 - 1991, but these provided very little in the way the tuition, but more the chance to practice life drawing with whatever model showed up on the evening. I am currently no longer active as an artist, and haven't been since 1999 although I intend to pick up the brush again at some point in the future. I have many of my paintings in private collections including Sade the singer, John Connolly the crime writer, Australian jazz musician Vince Jones and British Museum curator Samantha Bowden. John Connolly has been kind enough to cite the "Rabbit" painting as part of the inspiration for his novel, which can be found on P.418 of the 2007 edition of the paperback. The Book of Lost Things. I live in Essex, England. |
